Inversa's Unique Tools for Offshore Oil & Gas

In the oil and gas space Inversa is a technology provider focused on using its patented Back Scatter Computed Tomography (BCT) technology to provide in-service condition assessment data for a variety of composite piping and pressure vessels.

Inversa’s tools are both in use and in constant development for applications ranging from, corrosion under insulation (CUI) inspection of large diameter structures, to in-service analysis of composite wrap repairs (Wrapsight ™).

Temporary Wrap Repair Inspection
& Asset Integrity Management

WrapSight™ is a patented condition assessment protocol for metallic pressure pipe with wrap repairs. Pressure systems in an offshore setting experience external corrosion in the form of scabs and blisters. When repaired with engineered or temporary composite wraps the host pipe becomes impossible to inspect with conventional methods. These repairs are therefore date limited due to lack of integrity information.

For the offshore Oil and Gas industry, Inversa has developed a condition assessment method for evaluating the integrity of wrap repaired pipes and vessels.

The condition assessment steps include a close visual inspection, ultrasonic measurement techniques, radiography of the wrapped region and backscatter computed tomography of the damaged area.

Wrapsight diagnostic imaging allows the accurate imaging of the steel pipe beneath a composite wrap repair. A unique inspection technique has been developed and class approved which enables the integrity of the temporary repair to be assessed while in-service.

With WrapSight™ detailed evaluation of the host pipe is now possible for optimized operation decision making and regulatory compliance.
